My name is Jared Montz, welcome to my blog! I have been a professional soccer player since 2005. The past year or so I have not been playing due to my groin/hip injury. I will be getting groin surgery August 12, 2008 in Vail, Colorado. This blog is to document my comeback to professional soccer!!!
There are situations in life that will happen that are out of your control, all you can control is how you react to them; negative or positive? My groin injury has been an absolute nightmare but I have chosen to react positive by giving back the youth in the community. I have spent most of my time this past year coaching and running my soccer camps, the Jared Montz Pro Soccer Camps. The camps are my way of teaching the youth the soccer skills, techniques, and smarts I have now that I wish I could have had at their age. My goal is to help them believe in themselves that they can reach their dreams if they use their “White Collar Smarts with a Blue Collar Heart”.
My other project that has been keeping me busy during my time off is MontzTV; www.youtube.com/montztv. MontzTV is a show that I created where I interview different pro players, pro coaches, and college coaches on what was their story, how did they make it, and what is their advice for young players. Other episodes include coaching tips, skill videos, and camper goal celebrations! It has been alot of fun, playing journalist, and it is slowly becoming a hit! The purpose is to entertain, motivate, and educate my viewers. I hope you enjoy it!
